EZ Down system.

A unique solution that has improved yields from less than 75% to over 98%

The Problem

Often, with ingredients that are fine powders blended with large spherical granules, any movement or disturbance causes the spheres to float to the top of the batch or segregate.  This causes lower yields to do segregation when transitioning from container to container or to tablet presses.

The Solution

The EZ-Down system prevents product segregation by eliminating product free-fall. This device has a bladder that inflates to pinch off a flexible downspout running between an IBC outlet and either a piece of process equipment or another container inlet. Once the IBC valve is opened the bladder is deflated at a controlled rate allowing the weight of the product to push downward through the flexible downspout in a uniform "slug".

"This system exceeded our greatest expectations. Our yields jumped from less than 75% to over 98% plus we dramatically reduced the labor needed to perform the process. Our return on investment was almost immediate. CPS definitely rose to the challenge and we are now updating our other lines with this system."

Type 1: Compression Feed

This is the most common application for our EZ-Down System that eliminates free-fall induced segregation caused by through-floor product transfer into a tablet press, encapsulator or packaging equipment.  Type 1 EZ-Downs are available both single inlet and double inlet tablet press applications.

Type 2: Container Filling

The second application eliminates free-fall induced segregation commonly encountered when filling a container such as an IBC, drum or hopper.  This application utilizes one of our Column Lifts to elevate the container as part of the operation sequence.  The EZ-Down first controls the material during the transfer between production floors and the Column Lift works in conjunction with the EZ-Down to eliminate the free-fall in the filling process.

Type 1y

This is the same application as a Type 1 EZ-Down except that it incorporates two additional sloped EZ-Down sections to divert and control flow into both inlets of a double sided  tablet presses.
